My experience has been with 1.5.x and using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and I haven't yet tested it with Mountain Lion. The only issue I've ever had with Dockview is that a bunch of console errors will come up if I'm running SnapzPro, but I think that might be the fault of Snapz, not sure.
I use it constantly with Spaces and I wouldn't update to another OS without it. I keep iChat in another space and can hover over it's icon as well. On the contrary, I've found DockView to be indispensable especially when you work with Spaces.
